Prepare the tested materials into a sample according to the specified size, measure the change of transmittance of a group of parallel beams passing through the smoke during the process of combustion of the sample to produce smoke, calculate the corresponding specific density under the conditions of the specified sample area and optical path length, and select the maximum specific density.
