Commonly known as redox flow battery, it is a new type of large-scale electrochemical energy storage device. The positive and negative electrolytes of the flow redox cell are separated and circulated through an external circulating pump respectively. The positive and negative electrolytes are pumped into the battery reaction system. The positive and negative electrolytes respectively undergo redox chemical reactions on the positive and negative surfaces of the electrode to provide energy. By storing energy in an electrolyte, it is significantly different from the electrodes of a battery. At present, various systems have been developed, such as vanadium and Zn-Br batteries, which have been applied in some energy storage projects.
