layered silicate mineral. Pseudohexagonal lamellar, tabular, short columnar crystal. Often present as a scale like aggregate. The extremely fine scale muscovilte is called seridte. muscovilte is colorless. phlogopite is light brown and light green, biotite is dark brown or even black, and lepidolite is light purple, rose or pink, and zinnwaldite is light green brown to dark green brown. glass luster, cleavage surface pearly luster. Thin sheets have flexibility. The Mohs hardness is 23 on the (001) surface, 4 on the vertical (001) surface, and the density is 2.76-3. lOg/cm3. muscovilte and biotite are widely distributed in various igneous rocks, metamorphic rock and pegmatite. phlogopite occurs in the contact zone between acid intrusive rock and carbonatite, coexisting with diopside and forsterite. lepidolite occurs in granite pegmatite and coexists with spodumene, muscovilte and tourmaline. zinnwaldite occurs in high-temperature gasification hydrothermal veins containing tungsten and tin. Mica is an important mineral materials in electrical, electronic, aviation and other sectors, and can be used in construction and rubber industry.
