The process of manufacturing a fire-resistant mold that conforms to the pattern or core box shape. For sand mold foundry, it includes sand filling, compaction, mold lifting, trimming and other processes as well as corresponding auxiliary processes. It is to compact the loose molding sand around the pattern to be strong enough to withstand the impact pressure of liquid metal during lifting, boxing up and casting after mold lifting. Therefore, sand tightening and mold lifting are important processes. There are manual and machine methods. Handmade production is suitable for single small batches or large castings, while machines are suitable for mass production of castings.
