Explanation

The general term of materials used to make mold. Belongs to consumable raw materials for production. The generalized concept should include permanent mold, etc., but generally refers to disposable mold (or core) consumption of materials. Due to different types of alloy, different sizes and shapes of castings, different foundry methods are adopted. The selection of molding materials varies greatly. Generally, materials can be classified into the following categories: granular refractory, adhesive and additives, hardener, coatings. The pattern used in solid foundry can also be classified as molding materials.
