composite explosive composed of RDX and a small amount of deterrent, namely passivation hexogen. There are A, A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5. The difference in composition lies in the different types and amounts of deterrent. For example, A-3, A-4 are both hexogen, which is insensitive to beeswax. A-3 and A-4 are both paraffin passivation RDX, but the paraffin content of the former is 9% ± 0.7%, and the paraffin content of the latter is 3.0% ± 0.5%. I-RDX in China contains 5% -6% deterrent (wax) and a small amount of dye. The mechanical sensitivity is significantly lower than that of RDX, which is convenient for pressing and forming, and has good explosion performance. It is a very widely used military composite explosive, commonly used for loading armour breakers and armour breakers, also used as booster explosive, and also used to manufacture aluminized composite explosive.
