在真空条件下向钢液吹氧脱碳的炉外精炼工艺技术。主要用于生产高铬不锈钢，也可用于生产超低碳钢和对特殊钢进行真空精炼及真空脱气处理。由于真空条件下碳脱氧的能力很强，故可使钢中碳含量降至很低，由此保证铬的收得率很高。通过测定真空度和分析废气成分确定吹炼终点。
