Explanation
It is also called vacuum carbon deoxygenation. The deoxidation capacity of carbon under normal pressure is weak, while the deoxidation capacity of carbon under vacuum condition is strong. deoxidation is carried out by taking advantage of the high deoxidation capacity of carbon under vacuum conditions and the higher vapor pressure of some metal oxides than that of metals.
