The process of producing hydrogen gas. Many processes and methods of hydrogen generation production include electrolysis or pyrolysis of water, reforming of hydrocarbons, decomposition of chemical hydrogen storage materials or reaction with water, and some biochemical processes under the action of enzymes or bacteria.
