It refers to a thermoplastic resin obtained by esterification with acetic acid as solvent and acetic anhydride as acetylating agent under the action of catalyst. It is the earliest commercially produced and developing organic ester of cellulose among cellulose derivatives. [1] As a porous membrane materials, cellulose acetate has the characteristics of high selectivity, large water permeability and simple processing.
