The steel plate used to manufacture the protective parts of tanks, armoured vehicles, fighter planes, ships, bulletproof vehicles, etc., mainly protects against the attacks of various penetrators and armour piercing projectiles. The service state after heat treatment must have high hardness, strength and enough toughness. Armored steel used in cold areas must also have good low-temperature toughness. With the improvement of operational mobility requirements, the thickness of leveling steel plate has been continuously reduced, and the requirements for strength have also been constantly improved. The tensile strength of high-performance main protective armor has been expected to be higher than 2000MPa. Medium carbon low alloy ultra-high strength steel and medium carbon high strength wear-resistant steel are usually used as armour steel.
